Masterplanning and urban design

Studio Pacific has considerable experience in the field of urban design and masterplanning. All three directors have previously worked in Europe on large urban regeneration projects such as Chiswick Park, a 33-acre office campus in London, Brindley Place canal district regeneration in Birmingham, Paternoster Square in London, the South Bank arts district in London and Garosud Montpellier in France.

The directors were also involved in the formation of an urban design competition group, Studio 333, in London in 1990. This group was successful in winning worldwide urban regeneration design competitions such as the revitalization of the ancient city core of Samarkand in Uzbekistan in the former USSR and the CIBOGA District masterplan for Groningen in the Netherlands.

Studio Pacific brings this international experience to New Zealand projects, combining our local knowledge of the qualities of the New Zealand landscape and sociocultural fabric with an awareness of approaches to urban design adopted around the globe. Recent masterplanning projects include the Kumutoto precinct in Wellington, the Centreport development in Wellington, The Waterfront in the coastal Wellington suburb of Seatoun, the Lighter Quay development in Auckland, the Beaumont Quarter development in Auckland, the Crown Lynn precinct in New Lynn, Auckland, the Shotover Country development in Queenstown and the Flatbush Town Centre in Manukau, Auckland.
