Yota is a key member of the Urban Design and Landscape team. While at Studio Pacific, Yota has worked on a range of projects spanning the disciplines of masterplanning, urban design and landscape architecture.
Yota’s interests are in the integration of ecological, urban, and adaptive strategies to climate change - where cities are failing and how cities can better integrate sustainable and ecological systems. Through his involvement in significant large-scale masterplanning projects, such as the Tāmaki Masterplan, Sunfield Car-less Sustainable Community, and Eastern Porirua Spatial Masterplan Yota is developing a depth of experience in complex spatial planning.
Yota has also been involved in a number of landscape projects including the Erebus Memorial, Launch Bay Apartments (Hobsonville point), Parliamentary Play Space and Wellington Cycleways.
Yota has a critical eye for process efficiency and is involved in establishing many of the design workflow processes and software systems in the studio.
He is currently working towards registration with the NZILA.
