Studio Pacific appointed as architect for Nelson Airport redevelopment

Studio Pacific is tasked with assessing the current terminal and investigating the aspirational needs and affordability of various options for the terminal’s development. They are working with Impact Project Management to meet the future needs of the airport.

This project continues to build on Studio Pacific’s strong design capability in the aviation sector, with a portfolio that includes the award-winning ‘Rock’ International Terminal Building at Wellington Airport, the MOTAT Aviation Display Hall in Auckland and the recently released design for the Airways Wellington Control Tower.

"The architects have done some extremely iconic and creative structures but [they have] also done flexible and affordable architectural designs," says Nelson Airport chief executive Rob Evans.

The initial study currently underway is an important element in meeting the needs of a multitude of stakeholders and airport users with additional airport facilities.
