Te Rau Karamu Marae Opens at Massey University’s Pukeahu Campus

On Saturday morning we joined the first manuhiri welcomed onto Te Rau Karamu Marae at Massey University’s Pukeahu Campus to celebrate its opening.

Studio Pacific designed the marae’s soft landscape which consists of native and endemic species to the Wellington region. The planting will serve as an educational resource with species selected for their rongoā Māori, habitat creation, biodiversity and mahinga kai values.

The beautiful whare, Te Whaioranga o Te Whaiao was designed by Athfields and features amazing artwork by Toi Rauwhārangi, Massey’s College of Creative Arts.
