Assad is an architectural graduate with both local and international experience. He focuses on computational design methodology, incorporating self-assembly architecture and material sciences to develop semi-autonomous architecture typologies.

Assad has a strong interest in BIM interoperability, automating design documentation, and building analysis within the BIM ecosystem. He has gained experience across various project types, including housing, re-clads, renovations, small-scale commercial developments, and large-scale minor dwellings.

His academic research at the AA included a proposal for a desert re-greening initiative using semi-autonomous mobile aerial robots as an agent system. These robots operated as aerial 3D printers, using sand as a sustainable construction material. Assad continues his research part-time into semi-autonomous architecture, examining the role of accessible microcomputers to build and control kinetic computational design systems and their application in architecture and mobile furniture.

Assad aims to provide strategic input on computational design approaches, building analysis, and automating design processes while gaining experience towards his registration.
