Matt joined Studio Pacific in 2015 with a Masters of Landscape Architecture from Victoria University of Wellington.
With a strong interest in small public spaces and their role within the wider urban context, his research focused on the production of gaps within the city, their ability to accommodate multiple programmes over time and how, as a collective, they can add to the looseness of a city.
Matt also has an interest in alternative design processes. Believing in a bottom-up approach, he puts strong emphasis on observing how people engage with sites at a human scale, and enjoys experimenting with various mediums and methods as tools to influence design outputs.
Matt aims to work towards his registration to become a registered landscape architect with the NZILA, and expand his knowledge and expertise with Studio Pacific Architecture.
