Michael is a registered architect in New Zealand with over 35 years of professional experience in architecture, urban design, interior fitouts, and space planning.

He is broadly skilled and capable of leading most project types. His particular knowledge areas include design, space planning, technical detailing, project management, contracts, and general quality management. Michael has a strong interest in environmentally responsible design and aims to inform all of his projects with this foundation.

Michael has led some of Studio Pacific’s major projects, with experience ranging from new houses, historic conservation, and new and refurbished commercial buildings, to interior fitouts and urban design projects. He has also provided specialist technical advice and reporting, including expert witness evidence and acting as a Crown technical advisor.

His current project work includes leading the architectural and landscape design teams for new and upgraded buildings at Parliament. Within the practice, Michael contributes at a management level, including the preparation of bids, recruitment, and quality assurance. He is also a member of the Studio’s Sustainability Working Group. Alongside leading projects, Michael contributes to a range of projects across the studio.
