This month, we are proud to celebrate a decade of mahi with two members of the Studio Pacific team – Melissa Robson and Susanna Stevenson.
Since joining the practice in 2015, Melissa and Susanna have contributed to a wide range of projects across Aotearoa. Their work spans civic and commercial developments, hotel and residential projects, and award-winning workplace interiors – each reflecting a deep commitment to people and place.
Melissa and Susanna are known for their design expertise, energy, generosity, and enthusiasm they bring to every project. Whether collaborating with clients, mentoring colleagues, or guiding project teams, their impact is felt across both our work and our wider studio culture.
Melissa Robson
Melissa brings a thoughtful, people-centred approach to interior architecture. Since joining Studio Pacific in 2015, she has played a key role in designing workplace environments that respond sensitively to how people interact, move, and work.
Her background spans commercial interiors in both Aotearoa and Western Australia, where she worked across office, healthcare, and education spaces. At Studio Pacific, Melissa has contributed to significant projects in Wellington, Auckland, Tauranga and Christchurch including BNZ Place, Deloitte, and Te Manawataki o Te Papa. A strong advocate for Activity Based Working, Melissa designs with flexibility, wellbeing, and team culture in mind.
Those who have worked with Melissa know her as a warm and energetic designer, whose eye for detail is matched by her ability to engage with clients and collaborators alike.
Susanna Stevenson
Susanna joined the practice with a strong design sensibility and an intensity that she brings to every project. Over the years, she has continued to grow her technical expertise and contributed to a wide range of civic, commercial, and residential developments with a strong focus on outcomes, compliance, coordination, and detail.
Susanna has been involved in several high-profile projects, including The Terraces and Waterfall Park hotels in Queenstown, 20 Customhouse Quay in Wellington, masterplanning for Beachlands South in Auckland, and most recently Te Manawataki o Te Papa in Tauranga. Her approach is hands-on – ensuring quality, supporting her teams, and helping guide our practice through evolving sustainability standards.
Susanna’s strong contribution to our projects and practice over the last decade continues to shape the way we approach design at Studio Pacific.
